NB: As at our "go live to DSpace 1.8" date 20 March 2013, Jorum Deposit is down due to some issues with transferring Shibboleth authentication over to our new server - we'll let you know as soon as it is back up. In the meantime you can read below about our move to 1.8 and all the goodies it is bringing

It’s a wonderful time to be part of the Jorum community. Our exciting new user interface is scheduled for release soon, providing contributors and other users with an improved search, preview, reporting and of course, the new Jorum API. Our recent blog:

After months of background planning, coordination and general hard work, we are extremely pleased to release today our new Jorum Beta.
The Beta site demonstrates our new and improved Jorum search, preview and reporting interfaces (including our new API). Please note the site includes real OERs from Jorum, but it is a bit behind the live service, so OERs shared very recently in Jorum might not be found here.
The Beta also integrates and improves on what we originally envisaged as the Jorum Dashboard for usage data. Finally, the Beta gives developers options to grab and use Jorum content and data via our new API. Please note the usage data available in the Beta reports are dummy data...

As the year draws to a close, I thought it timely to draw together some of the highlights from the year, reflecting on a period of significant change and activity for Jorum. To do this I turned to the Jorum Steering Group - a veritable bunch of wise men and women - who have kindly provided some (gold) nuggets for this blog post.
This is my solstice offering to the Jorum team, and a thanks to them all for their incredibly hard work over the last 12 months. It’s not quite frankincense and myrrh - but a recognition that whilst not all things of value are tangible it is important to capture the progress we are making together.

Jorum provides a place to find and share open educational resources (OER) for the UK higher and further education sectors. And now Jorum can showcase digital content for universities, colleges and communities in and around those sectors; read our recent blog post outlining the concept of Jorum ‘windows’.
On Friday 9th November a Jorum-powered window onto the Scottish FE community’s open content was launched by Scotland’s Colleges: www.resourceshare.ac.uk.
